About SoftJock
SoftJock was founded
in 2000, with it's mission statement to provide
affordable, stable, yet full featured software
for working DJs.
Our founder (Rick),
having been both a programmer and DJ for a
couple decades, was tired of carrying crates of
CDs and vinyl, so in 1999, he decided to write some software
to play MP3s so he wouldn't have to lug all
that stuff around anymore. The first version of Rockit was very simple, with two decks and a few
controls to play, find music, etc. This software
served his purpose well, and he was doing plenty
of gigs, and his back was happy.
One night while
playing at a rowdy little bar, a couple of DJs
stopped by the booth to say Hi, and noticed he
was playing off a laptop computer. They were
amazed, and asked where the software came from,
and where they could get copies. The rest is
history... :)
Rick incorporated
SoftJock in 2005, and since then has gotten so
busy, that he doesn't have time to DJ
anymore. Today, SoftJock sells software to disc
jockeys, night clubs, bars and hotels all
over the world. We are still a small company by
design, and enjoy staying that way so we can
still identify with our customers one on one. We
look forward to getting to know you too...
Meet the Staff

Rick Cimorelli
Founder,
President and Chief Software Engineer of
SoftJock, Inc.
Rick has
been in the entertainment industry since
the mid 70's, and a software developer
almost as long. Starting with some good
ol' rock bands, he eventually moved into
DJ'ing so he could keep more of the
money, and not spend most of his time
arguing with his bandmates about what
song to play next.
His first DJ
setup consisted of a turntable and an
8-track player, and then moved into the
fascinating world of cassettes as well!
As you can
see, he still thinks he's a rock
star, even in his
decrepit old age -- but is still kind to
animals of all sizes, enjoys good music,
and has an interesting sense of humor.
There's a
good chance that if you call or email
for questions or support, that he will
be the one you talk to... |

Faith Cimorelli
Head of
Quality Control, and Chief of Security
at SoftJock, Inc.
Faith is
head of quality control here at SoftJock,
and takes her role very seriously. She
can tell a good mix from a disaster, and
sounds off with the appropriate bark
(one for good, two for "Try it again
bozo").
Her hobbies
are herding goats, deer, woodchucks, the
barn cats, and birds. She is also the
captain of the SoftJock frisbee team,
and has been known to leap very high
during a catch!
There's a
good chance that if you ever break into
our office, Faith will consider you
dinner, and add the appropriate spices
before consuming you... |
